The Jardin Etnobotánico de Oaxaca showcases the boundless biodiversity of the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico. Located in the former orchard of the 16th century Santo Domingo Monastery, the 2.3 acre garden opened in 1998 thanks to the voices and efforts of local artisans who saved this space from becoming a luxury hotel.

The garden was designed with the connection of the plants and people of Oaxaca in mind. The beauty and benefit of these plants serves as a guide to the artistry of this culture-rich region. Each plant has a story to tell and a guided tour is a must.
